This tiny little bathroom occupies a space once occupied by a power distribution board and associated cupboard. The bathroom has an attached landscape component visible through the shower recess, which also serves as an internal garden for the living area. Rough slate walls and the garden, associated with river and natural cleansing, acts as a frame for the glazed tile wall, serving as a backdrop for the entire space and adding a perceived depth. The strong direction of the timber bulkhead further emphasizes the visual connection to the internal garden space beyond. Materials are informed by similar materials already used downstairs in the Japanese florist and café which the clients also operate.
