Replacing the existing rooms that were disconnected to the garden and natural light to the rear of a typical rendered brick terrace in Sydney’s inner city suburb of Newtown, this new sloping, south facing white gallery interior extension has been designed for a future collection of art, comprising the main bathroom, kitchen and a lower laundry cupboard, dining and living rooms. The design maximizes the habitable spaces which open out to the garden area at the rear to the south and the light court to the east, capturing direct sunlight in the morning from and during the course of the day from the generous northern high level window.
