This project involved the transformation of a poorly designed 1980’s speculative home on a suburban Sydney quarter acre block. The clients wanted more generous living dining spaces that were better connected. They also desired an outdoor room that would serve to expand the interior spaces.

The design introduced a kitchen island bench-cum-dinning table for family convivial gathering, opening to the outdoor room and garden beyond, elements that are central to Vietnamese culture, Feng Shui principles and general well being. New, strategically placed skylights bring light into the centre of the house whilst an internal pond and water plants bring the natural environment inside which also screens the new translucent bathroom wall.
