The owners of this restaurant approached us with an understanding that good design can make a difference in the quality of the dining experience and attract customers.

We wanted to create a strong design statement in sleepy suburban Sydney yet keep to a sensitive and respectful solution to the Thai cultural heritage.

The solution utilized careful planning, rich colours and various natural textures. Colourful food served on white crockery appears to float on the plane of black. Silk bought cheaply in Thailand by the owners were employed as padded silk feature panels and cushions that serves as a theatrical backdrop that can be seen from the traffic outside the restaurant.
